When buying a high-performance bike, there’s more to consider than tire clearance, weight, and geometry. It’s an investment in your next big ride, the next climb, the next KOM attempt. And when you’re spending hard-earned money on a dream machine, one thing matters as much as performance: trust.
TIME Bicycles are made differently. This allows us to offer something few other brands do—a Lifetime Warranty on our frames. We can stand behind our bikes with this bold commitment because of how we design and build them. Durability and reliability are part of TIME's DNA, and our Lifetime Warranty reflects the craftsmanship and engineering that go into every Time frame.
How TIME’s Manufacturing Makes All the Difference
Unlike most carbon fiber bike brands, we don’t outsource our carbon frame production to third-party factories. Time bikes are born in our own European production facilities, which not only allows us to maintain a high standard in terms of quality control, it also allows us to employ proprietary composites manufacturing technologies like Braided Carbon Structure (BCS) and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM). These processes yield a consistent carbon structure that’s flawless inside and out, while also allowing us to use exotic materials like Dyneema®, known as the World’s Strongest Fiber, which enhances vibration-damping qualities while adding impact resistance and strength to our frames.
Superior Stress Management: Braided Carbon Structure (BCS)
Most brands rely on raw carbon fiber in resin-soaked sheets known as ‘pre-preg’ sheets, which are cut and layered by hand. While this approach is commonly accepted, it can lead to imperfections like weak spots and inconsistencies due to seams between layers and variances in assembly. At TIME, we start with continuous dry, braided carbon fibers—meticulously woven into tubes that are optimized for strength, stiffness, and vibration damping. This braided approach eliminates cutting and overlapping seams, resulting in a frame that is inherently durable and able to withstand the rigors of real-world riding, as stress is distributed across the entirety of the woven structure.
A Precision Production Process: Resin Transfer Molding (RTM)
RTM takes that already-advanced braided structure and pushes it further. Unlike traditional lay-up methods which can result in too much or not enough resin (which can trap voids or bubbles), RTM injects resin into the braided dry carbon at high pressure, ensuring a precise, even distribution throughout the structure. The result is a frame that’s light, strong and incredibly consistent with no weak spots or unnecessary material weighing it down.
Forged Carbon In Critical Areas
Our frames incorporate forged carbon extensively for key components to enhance both strength and durability. For example, the CMT forged carbon used in our seatpost heads and dropouts offers an exceptional fatigue life—lasting 20 times longer than steel or aluminum—while also being significantly lighter than either material. Additionally, the 60% fiber composition of the forged carbon is specifically designed to prevent the spread of cracks, further enhancing durability.
Why This Matters for Durability
Cycling is tough on equipment—crashes, rock chips and even UV rays can take their toll over the years. The evolution of drop-bar bikes into aggressive adventure rigs with disc brakes and big tires intended to handle rougher terrain has only added to the stress applied to a lightweight carbon racing frame. That’s why TIME's commitment to advanced proprietary processes are such a big deal. A frame built with BCS and RTM will be light, responsive and refined, and exceptionally resilient when it comes to real-world cycling abuse. The way we make our bikes inherently resists fatigue and damage, a fact we’ve battle-tested and validated at the ProTour level for decades. And in addition to our own rigorous in-house testing, TIME frames exceed the UCI’s certification tests. This allows us to confidently back every TIME with a Lifetime Warranty.
Confidence on Every Ride
TIME's Lifetime Warranty is proof of our commitment to crafting bikes that last. That commitment is rooted in our legacy of craftsmanship, engineering, racing, and proprietary manufacturing processes that are more commonly found in aerospace and motorsports than in cycling. That means you can feel confident in your ride, whether it’s the daily grind of training, the rush of race day, or the adventure of exploring new roads and trails.
